CARCAR CITY – Despite the scorching heat of the sun, Mary Franz Pueblos and Arcel Aldave came into Carcar Central Elementary School to participate in an exhibition game of badminton last August 10, 2019. The veteran Pueblos overpowered the rookie Aldave in just one set, 16-11.

At the start of the match, Pueblos displayed her dominance of the court, taking the advantage of her 10-3 run. It seemed like Aldave was on her way of taking the lead as she had an input of 3 straight service aces.

Undeterred by that, Pueblos swiftly managed to find Aldave’s weak spot, giving her enemy her own piece of medicine as Pueblos stacked up her offense and tallied a service ace to finish the game.

“I’d take my loss as a stepping stone. I’ll learn from it. After all it is just an exhibition game”, said Aldave who just started her first year playing badminton.

“I hope that this performance will continue into the real tournament. In order to do that, I will sustain my skills through a lot of practice”, uttered Pueblos who will take part on the prestigious Palarong Panlungsod as an athlete representing CCES’ badminton team.
